Characteristics of the Kerama Islands

Located about 40 km west of Naha City, it consists of more than 20 large and small islands, and was certified as the 31st national park in 2014.

A sea current called the Kuroshio flows around the area, and there are few rivers, so a highly transparent sea called "Kerama Blue" is spreading.

It is also a spawning area for sea turtles and a breeding area of humpback whale. It is a popular sea area for divers where about 200 kinds of corals inhabit and many colorful fish that live in corals.
